What's new

Okay, who beat me on this Simpsons auction

What could you possibly mean? The seller assures us it is previously used but in very good condition.

I placed a bid on this brush ,but I got off at 12-.I felt it was only good
for the handle. At 22- I don't think it is worth it .Better luck next time.
The price used /vintage brushes on the bay is getting out of site.

Agreed...I did not see this auction but by my calculations based on some recent email exchanges with Simpson/Vulfix...the cost of re-knotting this in best + shipping both ways is going to cost you the same as a new one...!!! :wink2:

Unless somebody wanted to get a D01 knot in the Colonel handle :001_tt2:

Might make a nice restore project, though. I might have paid $22 for it... maybe...

But I didn't. Gone WAY over my budget this month.

I was in up to $15, making it $20 shipped. I was sure I could stuff a good two-band TGN in there and sell it on the BST, and we'd all come out ahead. At $27 shipped on the handle, I'm not so sure...

Meet me on the lawn at daybreak, badger brushes lathered.

The auction was at $8 with 30 seconds to go.
I bid $21.50. In the last two seconds it went to $22.
How disappointing, but congratulations to you sir. Obviously it needs a new knot, but a great handle.

BTW, unless you got a response that you were in the lead, and THEN it went to $22, this is a typical auto-bid. Somebody had bid higher than $22, and when you bid $21.50, it wasn't enough to outbid them. However, the price only goes up to the next interval higher than your bid but lower than his. He could have bid $23 or $50, the second the auction started, and it would have only gone up to $22 (all things equal).
