Ok, I know memebers have done this before

I let my 17 yr.old daughter smell my shaving creams and this is what I got. She likes TOBS Almond, she dosen't like AoS sandalwood, but she said Proraso red was ok. She likes RR Don Marco and she likes ADP(who dosen't, the girl has good taste). She also likes RR XXX (go figure, she likes ADP). She had mixed feelings about TOBS Jermyn St. she said it had a bitter smell ,but still had a tangy smell to it. She said TOBS lemon lime smelled like hair grease(hey, I'm just repeating her). I let her smell TOBS grapefruit she said, and I quote "That's power of pine-sol baby" I thought that was funny, but I like TOBS grapefruit so I felt she insulted my taste, but hey, I did ask her what she thought and she told me. Eton College she did't like and shave shop she said was ok. RR No.888 she said smelled like soap and she like the soap smell. She likes P-160 R160 and said they smelled like almond, but thought that TOBS had more of an almond smell. I haven't let her smell the eShave samples I have.

I let my 5 yr daughter (at the time) critique some of my software. Cella smelled like candy. 4711 smelled like summer. Veg smelled like vanilla and gross,.

It is amazing the different reactions some fragrances get.

Always interesting to hear what the "younger" crowd has to say though

I love hearing other's opinions. My 17 yr old son prefers Aqua Velva, which is what my father used. I love Clubman, which he thinks smells "old." All in your perspective, I suppose. :001_smile

I let my 10 year old daughter smell MdC scented once and she said "That smells like a soap you use when you don't want to smell like much". I think she meant that it was a light smell.... or maybe a boring smell. I'm not sure.... sometimes it's hard to translate. Most of the time, she says that she likes whatever I place in front of her nose. I guess anything is better than her two smelly brothers..... "eeww gross!!". :thumbdown

While I don't have children and may never will. It is interesting in knowing what the small crowd thinks. I wonde if some of the
opinions will change over time?

Yes, the opinions will change over time. I did this once before with my daughter when she was year younger. She said I smelled those all before, but this time she likes the Don Marco and she said herself that taste changes. Although I do like TOBS Eton College and Shave Shop, they don't have that eye opening power of TOBS grapefruit.

I think there will be some differences in opinion on fragrances - particularly between generations. I got my youngest brother who is 20 using a cream+brush (didn't convert him to a DE yet), and he really likes products like ToBS Jermyn Street, RR XXX, anything with an classic italian almond scent, and Don Marco.

Dislikes so far would include DR Harris Arlignton, Tabac, and Proraso:blink:

I'm in my late 20s, and I also find myself favoring modern scents scents (with the exception of authetic sandalwood, I love sandalwood).

My said the avocado smelled like a hand cream or lotion she had so she didn't dislike TOBS avocado. I like the classic almond scented creams also.

You have a very, very smart girl there. Never heard a more succinct and spot-on review of the Veg before! :biggrin1:

My daughter really likes Lucky Tiger aftershave, and also RazoRock Cumba Cheech (I don't; too floral) and Spieck (I didn't care for the mint). She didn't like Thayer's alcohol-free with cucumber, which is my favorite aftershave (crisp and clean).

She liked Mike's lavender and rosemary mint, but didn't care for the lime.

Thanks for the updates.

I always enjoy reading what others think of all the shaving cream scents.

Keep them coming
