What's new

ohhhh yea!

This soap thing is coming along. I have been using my break in to soaps puck for about 2 weeks now. It's a VDH Deluxe and it is really producing great lather the passed few shaves. I'm getting this down pretty good so far and the puck barely has a dent in it. I swear someone must be replacing my soap with a new one while I sleep. Soap elves?

Today I swapped out my Derby Blade to try an Astra for the first time and between the soap and the blade....smooth as silk. Man that was some slick lather and at the same time thick enough for cushion. Actually I'm sure I've tried an Astra at some point a few years ago but I don't remember it.

I also have a 1.5 oz puck of Mama Bear Sandlewood and Vanilla but wow is that thing small. My brush will barely fit on that thing. I will give it a shot tomorrow to compare. But this VDH has been nice, it may be tough to beat as far as Glycerin. Good stuff. Once I get this down some more I want to try Mikes.

I got moves like Jagger
Sue's mug soaps sure are tiny, but they're a "cute tiny" in my opinion and are perfectly functional. If you need a larger loading surface, you could always melt it into a mug/bowl or instead, you could grate some from the bottom and with a small amount of water added, use the shavings to seat the remainder of the puck into the bowl/mug.

Try rubbing the puck directly onto your skin. Then, build the lather by adding water via your brush. It will boggle your socks off.
