Ogallala Bay Rum Variety Fans?

Does anyone out there really enjoy the Ogallala Bay Rum splash varieties? I got a nice sample of the Lime and Peppercorns from Phil at Bullgoose Shaving and decided I would just throw it in with the next B/S/T sale I made as a freebie because the scent in the bottle wasn't quite there for me. For some reason though I decided to splash it on to freshen up one morning on my way out the door with the kids on the way to school. Well, let me tell you, it smells much different on the skin than it does in the bottle. It didn't strike me at all in the bottle, but it has the most pleasant scent on my skin and it left me with a very soft feel. I'm pleasantly surprised. I'll be using this in the am for a little pick-me-up.

I got a 17.5 oz bottle of Limes and Peppercorns this past summer. That's how much I like it. :001_smile

The Sandalwood version is very nice as well.

Limes is nice, IMHO.
Fit nicely with the Bay Rum character.

Sandalwood is not the ideal match, I think.

YMMV, as usual.

The Limes-peppercorn is easily my favorite of the splashes, but they're all top notch. I didn't care for the sandalwood, but it's a quality product none the less. If you haven't already done so, you have to try their bath/shampoo bars and shave soap.

Lime and Peppercorns is what gets cited around here the most. I guess for splashes I pretty much go with the straight up AS. They only really put on 5 splashes right, 3 of which are more or less straight BR: AS, BR Cologne, Special Reserve Cologne, Lime and Peppercorns, and Sandalwood, right? Or am I misreading the web site.

I use his bath soap a lot, and really like the regular BR and the lemongrass. I also have the shave stick lemongrass. I like the lime and peppercorns and the sandalwood okay, but I think I like the BR AS and lemongrass a more, at least in the product I use most.

I have the Limes and Peppercorns as well as the Sandalwood. I like them both so much they stay on the counter and not under the counter.

I really enjoy the Limes and Peppercorns and the scent holds on for a long time. It's nice to catch a random whiff every now and then.

I have pretty much everything they make.

My favorite is the Limes & Peppercorns. My wife loves it, I then would go with the sandalwood and then the basic BR. All three are awesome though... Thats just the way I would order them.

I received a sample and stuck in the back of the den because I didn't care for the scent. Then the same experience as you, I tried it and now I'm going to have to order a bottle plus the Lime & Peppercorns.

Their regular BR is nice, but I prefer Pinaud. The Sandalwood doesn't work for me, too sweet. The Limes and Peppercorn is the best thing since air.

I pulled the trigger. Went to the Bullgoose site and got the original and the Lime & Peppercorns.

I'm looking for the 17.5oz bottle for the best price inc. shipping. Any ideas? Seems the best so far is the storefront at the OBR webpage. About $31 shipped for 17.5oz. Anywhere better?

I have all the varieties of the aftershave splash.

When I first smelled them out of the bottle, I though I smelled horrible almost like vomit. I still put it on and it sure smelled fantastic. He puts some good ingredients into his splashes as well

i gotta send out some love for the bay rum & sandalwood. i wouldn't have thought to put those two together, but the sandalwood adds an almost vanilla-like finish to the traditional spicy scent of clove and bay leaves.

it's awesome and like all john's products...the quality is high and the price is low. a real gem.
