numbered blades

sorry if this has been covered before, but for all my searching im still clueless..
Noticed that some brands number they re blades in each corner, from 1 to 4.
why is this?

These numbers have no importance to the customer. They are placed there by the manufacturer to assist with their quality control inside of the factory.

What do the numbers on the blade mean?
One of the great mysteries of wet shaving. Some say they are part of a government mind control program, others say they are used to track your shaves with each part of the blade. Derby, when asked, say they're just for their own internal QA, and we needn't worry about them (or maybe thats just what they want us to think!).
