What's new

Now I know what the ARKO guy is smiling about!

I received Kooze's ARKO PIF yesterday afternoon and I decided to roll up my sleeves and shave with it this morning.

At first I was not so sure about how it was feeling rubbin the stick on my face or the scent (grapes to me) but then I added my boar brush and...

WHAMMY! I got a big lather punch to the face! I looked at that guy smiling back at me from the bathroom counter and realized he had just kicked my *** Turkish oldschool... And I didint even see it coming.

I will be back, but next time I may be bringing a case of his friends. Where's my visa card?

Kooze this post is for you thanks for the PIF it is fantastic.

You don't need a snooty fruity or flowery scent to get a fantastic shave. I'm glad you discovered the great performing soap that is the Arko shaving stick. It's one of the three soaps in my small rotation.

I also keep an unwrapped stick outdoors, in a soap dish next to a tap. Works great at removing grime and it doesn't dry out my skin. My hands usually chap and crack easily, to the point where they bleed, but not when I wash them with Arko.

Hey Mischka, Great tip on using it as a hand soap.

I am just like you in the fact that my hands dry out and crack in the winter really bad. I may just have to listen to you and the ARKO guy and put one out for hand washing.

Arko really is a great soap and deal; the Amazon.com deal of 12 sticks for $19 is a smart investment. (I added a tuck of Derby blades at $8 and got free shipping.) And if you ever do want to indulge in acquiring other soaps, you can do so on a budget by purchasing other sticks such as Palmolive and Wilkinson Sword. Arko has the most explosive lather, but IMHO all of these provide excellent shaves.

tried it for the first time a week ago just to see what the big deal was and had fun putting it on, was impressed with the lather, and had a very smooth moisturizing shave. the smell is a bit lemon pledge/urinal cup that my clubman coudn't suppress. i'll keep it in my rotation anyway since i usually shower after i shave. a great option for travel or the gym as well.

Arko is soft enough that it can be squished into a puck using a mug and a large prescription bottle. If you are going to be using it as a hand soap that would make it easier to use (or if you want to lather up with a brush rather than spreading it on your face first like a stick).
