Normal Wear on an Edwin Jagger Super Badger

I've been a lurker on B&B for quite some time, pondering whether or not I should get into the wet shaving world. Needless to say, I did get into it, and I'm really enjoying shaving with my Edwin Jagger de89.

I also purchased an Edwin Jagger Super Badger brush, and it's nice, but there are several stray bristles around the edges of the brush. My question is, Is this normal after about 5-6 uses? Am I doing something wrong? I don't feel like I'm rough on it, and I don't press hard when I am making my lather. I do both types of lather, soap and cream (not at the same time...different shaves). I've attached a couple of pictures so you can asses my brush.

Thank you in advance for your feedback, and thanks for letting me wander through the ins and outs of wet shaving here at B&B.

I sure am! Been playing golf since I was 3 (before the tiger woods hype and before it was cool to get kids playing golf.)

i don't play too much anymore now that my wife and I have a little girl...so I'm about a 2-3.
