No Name Blade

I was recently given a silver blade with no name or markings what so ever. It came from a black box. The person I got it from seemed a little nefarious and claimed it was made in Israel but offered no proof.
Anyone ever seen these blades.

The only blade I know of that has no markings on it whatsoever is Kai. Kai blades, however, are made in Japan, not Israel.

and they don't come in a black box.

however, there's a Shogun blade from Japan that comes in a white plastic dispenser with a black card/label. IIRC, the blades are marked tho.

Personally, I think unmarked blades from nefarious sources should be discarded in favor of marked blades from reliable sources.

But that's just me.

oh, I don't know... nefarious blades from unmarked sources (see what I did there) have a certain cache' not found with marked and vetted ones.

Yeah, the Shogun blade has markings. And it's a crappy blade.

The Kai, on the other hand, is completely blank and it's a wonderful blade.

There's no comparison between the two blades.

It was a white box with black card. Silver blade no markings. Nefarious (non-Asian) guy, 6'5", dark jacket but big smile.

Sounds like the blade may be from Japan. I may have to see him use it before I do.
