No Lady Gillette for Grandma

My mom dug out my Grandmothers DE safety razor that she used to use. I was surprised to see that Grandma used a Flair Tip SS. It's date coded D2 which places it at 2nd Quarter, 1958. Here are some before and after pics:

Grandma also had the distinction of using the limited edition "TV Special" that you have there, as opposed to a regular Flare Tip Superspeed.

Holy smokes really? Cool. What is the difference? It does feel like it's a bit heavier than my SS.

The TV Special was a limited release of a specially knurled handle in a special end opening case to run with the Cavalcade of Sports on Television.

See the pics below for a TV Special and a regular Flare Tip SS and note the difference in the handle knurling. The TV Special was only done in the Flare Tip model in 1958.

Whew! What a shave! The last two shaves have been with that SS and I love the shaves! Grandma knew her razors!
