No date code on a Super Adjustable?

I've been looking for over a year now for my birth year razor which is 1983 with no success so far. Something I've been running into lately is a few Super Adjustables with no letter, just a number. Anybody know why?

Have you checked on the blade tray? I think some of the later models had the date codes on the blade tray.

Yeah, I had the seller check it... nothing. There is a "4" under the head but no letter. Very odd...

If it was on the blade tray, this picture should show it easily.

Here's the "4" on the back but no letter. He has other pictures of the back from a couple different angles that show nothing as well.
