NFL Week 2 Open Thread

I dunno if I really have the "authority" to institute something like this, but thought it might work here on B&B. A few team-centric sports blogs I frequent do open threads for games, so I thought we might just have one big one here for all of the week two games.

So feel free to drop in, lament on how bad your team is losing today/tonight/Monday, and make a snide remark about Brett Favre! (go Dolphins!!!)

I don't understand Tony Romo. He seems like a totally likable guy, so even though I'm a Skins fan, I can't hate him. That said, he can't win. He puts up good stats, but ever since he took over, he's had an incredible offensive arsenal, yet he can't get it done. He somehow finds a way to lose the game, whether it's botching a field goal hold or just making poor decisions. He's got three good receivers, three good running backs, a great tight end and a tremendous defense to back him up, but he's being outplayed by Jay Cutler, who can't drop back without being hit. But it's hard to say that he stinks or deny that he should be quarterback, considering his stats are great. He just can't seem to lead, or something. I don't know what it is. I don't think the Cowboys will ever win with him at QB. If they lose to the Bears and drop to 0-2, Jerry Jones is going to fry someone.

Very quietly my Kansas City Chiefs have went 2-0. I will not get excited about today's game against the Cleveland Beige. They aren't good enough to reference as the Browns right now. We managed to eek out the win after making them look like champions in the first half. We looked much better last week against the Chargers.

The Chiefs have a long way to go before they could be considered a good team but they do have some exciting young talent and a coaching staff that should get it done. I am glad they come back to Arrowhead next week. It is odd. If I am not mistaken they have a schedule that is flip-flopped each week. Never two games in a row either at home or on the road. I don't know if that is normal or not, just odd.

Regards, Todd

Yeah, the Chiefs so far are the surprise 2-0 team. I'm not sure what to think about Cassel, but I definitely believe in the potential of Jamaal Charles.

The Redskins choked. Oh my God, they choked big time. Up by 17. They allowed Schaub to throw for almost 500 yards. 500! 500!!!!! What a melt down. McNabb played so well, too. My Dad is so upset that he's drinking. He never drinks.

The Jets finally opened up the offense and won. They're down Jenkins and Revis but somehow playing better without their two best defenders - go figure. Time to squish the fish next week in Miami, who got lucky in the land of 10,000+ lakes this weekend.

LUCKY???

Ohhhhhhhh man. Them's fightin' words.

I hate to say it, but I think Tom Brady is the guy who tanked the Pats this week.

Apart from the first quarter, he seemed overly focused on passing everytime he could to Moss, who was not having such a great day to begin with (aside from that one uber-catch!:w00t:).

That one hurt. I have to say that the Jets did win that one, Sanchez looked pretty good.

We'll get ya next time!:thumbup1:

Could not agree more or say it any better. I'm happy they are 2-0 but both wins were sloppy and I believe came about with some luck. The defense looks very promising. Now if they pull off a big win against Indy...well? Maybe there is something there. It seems like they are not clicking on all cylinders like something is missing.

I don't look for them to end up in the playoffs but I think they will have a better record this season.

Packers D looking good...And Clay Mathews is a beast. 6 sacks in 2 games already.

Looking forward to MNF vs the Bears!
