Next Single Edge AC Razor?

I have the stainless steel Colonial General V1. I find it a little too heavy and I prefer using it with a lighter titanium handle, but I really like how it shaves.
However I would not mind trying something just a tad more aggressive. Not by a lot, I do not like razors with a lot of blade exposure. Possibly lighter. For that purpose, I may also consider buying just the head and pairing it with my titanium handle.
I shave every day.

Suggestions?

Atelier Durdan La Faulx. I would say the + or perhaps even the ++ if you don't mind some blade feel. It's available head only and in various metals.

If you're doing SE, why neglect Gem? There are some really nice Gemish razors out there. Personally, having used both AC and Gem, I find I prefer Gem by a very wide margin. Just by way of illustration, here are a few of the Gemish razors I've used that particularly impressed me:

PAA Starling V2OC
Wolfman WR3 0.35mm OC
previous version Blackland Sabre (L1 plate more than L2 for me)
SlimGem Mantis SE
Ever Ready 1914 "Little Lather Catcher"

While I have used several models of actual Gem razors, none of them really spin my toque. Oh, the Jr. Bar is a great little lather catcher but it'll get your attention in a hurry ATG. I have an MMOC that's in pretty good nick but I still find it unpleasant.

Only one real blade choice? Feature, not bug. :) Plus blades are cheaper than AC I find.

Free advice; might be worth what you paid for it. Worth a look, I'd say.

O.H.

The La Faulx razor head does pair up nicely with the Timeless Ti Crown handle. I get great shaves with the Classic but I have bumped up the efficiency with a ProSuper as well. I might eventually get a + or ++ base plate but I don’t really need either as I get 12 hour shaves with the Classic with standard dimension AC blades as well as the ProSuper.

I will say this: if you are committed to a AC format and know the blades you prefer, you can get boxes of 10 packages for $8 or $9 per package of 15 and/or 20, depending on them being guarded or unguarded. That makes them very economical, at least, for me.

why neglect Gem?
I am only interested in a new AC SE, but I have other SE razors, including a Feather Weight that I like:

I recently purchased the new Shield AC razor in brass and was quite impressed with how smooth and efficient it was with a Feather Pro blade. It even beat my Blackland Vector Ti. I was shocked by how good it was.

The second link that has the brass components. Looks like they are sold by separate heads and handles now. Brass AC head with the Brass AC handle is the way to go… if you like brass. They’re made in SS as well for about the same price if that’s your preference. Either way, you can’t loose for the price/performance.

I have tried the Feather Professional Super in the General and while in fact it had a better exposure, I did not like how the blade performed. It looks like my skin prefers the regular Pro. Not sure why.

I ended up ordering the Shield with the titanium handle and the steel head. Thank you.
They changed the store location again. They sell both AC and GEM blades as well.

Received it yesterday, it came with one Proguard so I tried it with it.
Excellent razor, the steel head and the titanium handle are well balanced.
I like it, I would buy it again.

My favorite (if you can find it) is a King Cobra AC SE.
I pair mine with a Kai Titan regular blade.
It's the best shave I've ever had, and, ultimately, the worse shave too.
But, I know what I'm doing with it now, so definitely the best.

Glad you liked it. I just ordered the Ti version as well and aim to pair it with the Timeless Ti Crown handle. Should be a good pairing.

If you are going to try different blades--this is the path of wisdom--then skip the Proshave brand you will find on AliExpress.

Truth will be found in the Feather. Or the Schick Proline. Or maybe the KAI...which I have but have not yet tried in my AC SE.
