What's new

newbie questions :

Mehh B&B is great for enabling people to buy stuff  hehe

I noticed some of the pens going for sale on the B/S/T section .. and I knew I will get in trouble soon .. :tongue_sm

So I stopped at the biggest office supply store in town and I picked up a cheapo made in Germany - Senator Solaris (3$) and some schneider ink cartridges.

Now the questions hehe .. when I like to change color how do I clean the leftover ink from the previous cart? or just place the new one and write some to flush it?

In the pen there was a empty open top cartridge in place .. this is just a holder? or it has some function? (safe to trow away?:001_rolle)

Next I guess I will want a calligraphy type of nib ..

update: seems the price is not right after all .. I was wondering how a solid metal pen with a metal tin cost only as much as cheap plastic ball pen lol .. somehow they seem to be one zero short on the price (price in macedonian denars).

Welcome to the forum ;-) I normally just rinse with water until the water runs clear, then dry it off and load up the new color. Be careful with the calligraphy nibs, they're addictive, lol. Also, that's a nice looking pen, congrats on the purchase!

So I guess that is the one for flushing with water? (good thing I asked before I trowed it away haha)

Thanks for the quick responses :thumbup1:

oh one more newbie question .. is it bad to leave the pens loaded with ink for longer time? (cartridge system)

yeah that what I want to know :)

I read some before asking .. someplace says one week some one month while other claim its not really that big issue with cartridges and water based ink.

Some inks and pen combos wont mind sitting around for long periods of time, others may clog up the feed. Really if i knew ahead of time a pen would be sitting for a month or more I would flush it out clean it up and put it away just to be safe so I could just ink and go with it when i wanted to bring it back into rotation again
