New (to me) SE Razor

I was at an antique shop the other day, and picked up this guy. It has a bakelite handle and it's stamped "Made in USA" GEM.

Does anyone know anything about this particular model? I haven't cleaned it yet, but I'm interested to see how a single edge razor shaves.

Yes its a lightweight model and the one i have shaves realy well, although it is not an aggresive razor i would say middle of the road but get the right blades not those used in box cutters, and you will hopefully enjoy it.

GEM Featherweight. I've a bunch of GEM razors. The Featherweight is not one of my favs. But, of course, YMMV.

I actually just had a shave with this razor and some Proraso, and I have to say, I was really impressed. I don't know how to explain it, but it has a different feel from my Merkur for sure. I can't say if I like it better or worse, but either way it was a really nice, close, smooth shave!
