new to me pens need help on ink

Just traded for 2 pilot 78g in f and b nibs, and am looking for in that will suit me. it needs to be green or violet and write on cheap paper, these will be used for correcting mechanical drawings at work, and everyday jotting. these are my first fountain pens that i wont be using carts for. im thinking noodlers concord grape and dragon green or Diamine grape and emerald.

any suggestions?

I have a similar thread open right now, so I'll be paying attention to this one as well.

I have read that Montverde as well as noodlers are good on cheap paper. What I plan on doing is getting a few samples and making my own decisions, i would recommend you do the same.

just that it works in the 78g, however i know that each pens works a bit differently i just looking for a starting point for samples.

When do you mean by cheap paeper, is it copier paper? I would recommend an ink from the Rohrer & Klingner line-up. They work well for me on copier paper.

What is important to understand is that not all inks are alike. From Glen's Pens on Ink: "Fountain pen ink is a rather complex medium. It is a blend of solvents, pigments, dyes and water. Ink is not ink, and as you use various different brands you will find that some ink just does not work in some pens very well, some inks are are too "thin" or "thick" dry to fast or not fast enough. A wide range of criteria that each user holds to define the acceptance of a particular brand and colour of ink. "

Read this page for very useful information on ink.

In general, R&K are well-behaved but I do have a few exceptions (Leipzig Black and Morinda, come to mind). Like Diamine, most are well-behaved but there are a few inks that act up. It really is going to take some samples to find what you are hoping to find.

Quink and Lamy inks are recommended as well. I don't have much experience with Waterman inks, but some think they are the gold standard.

Quink is common for me as well, specially since bottles are about 8 bucks and available at staples, but samplers will let you try a bunch of stuff before you settle on one thing, Monteverde and sailor jentle inks are also two brands that go to work with me as well
