New to MdC - Let it dry out?

Hi Guys! Got my first jar of MdC yesterday, and had a wonderful shave this morning with it. The question I have refers to the notecard in the box. Am I correct that they suggest letting the MdC dry out, and not screw the lid back on the jar? Figure it's just a misinterpretation. I have a hard time speaking English as a native speaker, let alone someone from France trying to understand it. Thanks for your guidance.

I usually let all my soaps dry for a bit before closing them back up, so my guess is this is what they are recommending.

I let it dry out a bit (15 minutes or so) and put the lid back on. It's been working out fine for me so far, I do not notice any issues with excess moisture with the soap.

They do say that, that the soap should not have the top on. However, I put it back on right afterward (space issues - I'll put my brush and razor on top) and there has been no problems.

that's how I used my first jar and never had an issue, until the very end. it was a minor issue, but it was a bit of a slurry at the bottom.

When I got close to the end, I let it air out with the lid off as was a bit sloppy down there.

I've had my jar since April and the lid hasn't been on it since then. The scent has faded ever so slightly but it still produces the standard MdC lather.

Every jar of Martin de Candre I've ever had was left open. Usually I toss the lid right off.

Don't think it matters either way. The Brain Bowl is uncovered. I let mine breath for a week before capping them. I now use it in the morning and close it at night since I only use them once a week (weekends.)

I put the lid on my jar after shaving and have never had problems with it.

Clean, let dry for about 15 min or so close it up and you will be ready for the next shave.

I've the bowl version I use and leave as is (there's no lid for the bowl version). I've seen no deterioration in its performance. MdC is my main shaving soap - I use it daily.

I have been leaving mine with the lid off for the last couple of weeks and I don't notice any difference so I plan on leaving it open.
