What's new

new to cella: is it supposed to be hard as a rock?

just got some cella, opened it up and it's really hard. yes, i can dent it with my finger, but only if i really push quite firmly.

do you lather this stuff like a traditional soap? is it supposed to be softer, like a slightly firmer cream?

what say ye?

Cella is meant to be as you describe, mine certainly is.

I lather Cella as I would a normal puck of soap, soak my brush and then squeeze out the water before swirling until i get a slurry and then moving it to my lather bowl.

FWIW it provides a great shave, a very underrated soap IMO.

Hope that helps, as always YMMV.

Mine is like this as well. Not as soft as say proraso, but not as hard as VDH, Williams, or Institut Karite.

Cella hard as a rock? No sir. It's certainly not as hard as triple milled soaps, and softer than the non triple milled soaps that I've tried. Not as soft as cream, obviously...

it sounds like my cella is as it should be. if anyone else has some specific lathering recommendations, i'd welcome them.

thanks everyone,

david

Cella is dentable with a firm finger push. Lather as you would any of your soaps. Great lather leading to a great shave and at the bottom of the price range:thumbup1:
