This is a follow-up to yesterdays post. After 30 stokes on the cotton and 50 strokes on the horsehide I shaved with the the Dovo. No real change my routine other than the new strop. The Dovo was good and sharp before I got the new cotton/horsehide strop from TM. I a recovering 35 year shaving dufus so please excuse my lack of knowledge, but I will try to explain...
The shave was effortless. A few times I had to look at the trail of lather on the Dovo to see if I really cut any hair. And sure enough it was loaded. I was able to use a super light touch against the grain leaving a super smooth path.
But the best part was after I washed. I end my shave with a full face wash with the left over shave soap. This time my face felt... well... like my face. It did not feel like my face that I just shaved. The hair was gone but it felt more like I washed may face the next day, except no hair. I think it is because I was able to use a super light touch even in the twisted gain areas.
There is probably some sort of molecular alignment thingy going on. All this recovering-shaving-dufus knows is that Mr. Miller has the secret sauce.
