NEW!the reverse razor

Whoa! Somebody got a heck of a deal there. That looks like one of those smooth ball end canadian old types. Worth the price right there. Throw in a free ABC case. Sweet.

While the seller probably did not know what he had, it used to be common practice to reverse the lower portion of the head when traveling with a blade in place to protect the blade. At least that is what the claim was. Somewhere, and I cannot remember where, I saw an old set of instructions that directed the user to do this when packing the razor for traveling.

I have not tried this and do not know whether it would screw up the edge of the blade. Next time I'm ready to throw a blade in the blade bank, I'll try this just to see whether or not it buggers up the blade edge.

I'm sure that if I tried to sell auto parts or something like that I'd mess things up too.

Sure. I mean there's only two ways to put together a 3 piece razor so there's a 50/50 shot at screwing it up if you don't know what's what.

I haven't done it with a blade in the razor, but when I had my last (and first, lol) blade change, I left my 3-piece DE89L disassembled to dry out. I threw it together in a hurry to show to my friends, and after like 5m realized I had the bottom plate on backwards.

It's not *really* a mistake unless you try to shave with it that way. Then I point and laugh at you. Ha ha! ;)

(Note: You are hereby forbidden from bringing up this post when I start a new thread in a few months about how much it hurt when I tried to shave with a reversed bottom plate. ;) )
