New Shaving Display cabinet

Picked up a very nice oak display cabinet...for free! My wife said I should use it for my shaving items and here it is.

I still have a couple of drawers for my soap, a few straights, extra blades, and various other items.

Very nice! Seeing all that glass though makes me wonder what the move was like.

I remember coming across a free dresser once. Tried to lift it and it might as well have been nailed to the earth it was so heavy. Passed on that one.

Would love to hear the story about how you discovered this for free and how you got it to your place. Great find!

Great Collection!! So with everything you have, what is your favorite/ most used razor, cream etc?
Have a hard time narrowing it down...I prefer single edge razors and soaps over creams. I have shaved a few times with a straight, but it makes my wife nervous to see me since I am not very good at it. I really like the GEM junior, Schick repeating model A, and the Gillette Big Fellow or President for double edge. Soap would be the old Mitchell's wool fat, LA Toja, and Reef Point Fugere Santal for my top. After shaves...Barbasol Pacific Rush (extremely little left), Aqua Velve Ice Sport and Ice Blue. Brushes would include the reknotted Everready 100t and 200t and a mixed knot Fuller.

Usually one of my kids pick out my setup for the next day which gives me a wide variety of combinations.

So...we answered an ad on FB for a free and working Grandfather clock...and the elderly lady had this cabinet in her garage beside it with all of the glass already removed and asked if we could use it. The clock was put into the back of the van with the pieces of glass neatly stacked and arranged with packing between. The cabinet itself ended up on its back on my small trailer with a moving blanket over it and strapped at top and bottom where there are solid pieces. Then a 40 mile drive home. Have to say that it is solid oak and very heavy.
