I wanted to make an initial post and say to hello to everyone. I've lurked around for a few days and decided I needed to join up. I recently started DE shaving and am enjoying every aspect of the craft. I picked up a vintage Gillette on eBay, already had a brush and some cream (which I later ditched after realizing it has alcohol in it and picked up some at C.O. Bigelow) and some pre-shave oil and aftershave. I am so happy to have ditched the cartridge world.
I'm trying really hard to hone my technique and it seems to be getting better. I am nicking myself much less with each sequential shave. My razor is some what small in my larger hands, it has a short handle, so I'm often fighting my grip. But, I'm getting there.
