New C&E scent: West Indian Lime

I just got a email from Crabtree & Evelyn announcing their new lime scented collection. The scent is described as fresh limes and vetiver blended with nutmeg, ginger, coriander and juniper.

I smelled the EdC or EdT when it first came out in 08. I loved the scent but it was so fleeting it wasn't worth the money. I hope they fixed it this time around BTW any word on a soap this time?

not sure if everyone's on the mailing list but, today i got a email from crabtree and evelyn. they now offer west indian lime shaving soap, cream, aftershaves and other items

Sorry, I meant to say the soap was announced. I was not aware of the EdC and EdT being already available. I LOVE most lime scents but most are fleeting and lack much staying power.

Thanks for the heads up. I see they already have it up on their site. Looking forward to stopping by C&E to give it a whiff.

Stopped by C&E in the Mall of America today to check it out. For those in the twin cities or visiting the twin cities, they DO NOT currently have the WIL shave soap at the MOA C&E. However, I received a sample of their WIL shave cream. It has a pleasant soapy/lime scent to it. I usually prefer a pure lime scent (C&E does not pretend it is a pure lime from their description), nonetheless, lime is present in the scent and it is enjoyable. Have to see how it shaves later, although I am not expecting to be blown away. I have not been particularly impressed with C&E creams in the past.

I've just merged a couple of threads here, chaps. I have a bottle of the WIL EDT and it is good but not long lasting- looking forward to sniffing the soap.

Very cool packaging for the cream tube!

I agree! When I have to throw out packaging from C&E, I feel bad.

The shave from the WIL cream was surprisingly good. I remember trying the Sandalwood cream when I first got into wet shaving, and I thought that (compared to other products) way too much product was required to get a good lather. This cream lathered up just fine, and I got a really good shave. I do wish it was more limey, but I keep getting little whiffs every now and then of the lime, and woody, leathery, basenotes. I like it. I plan on getting the soap.

Went to my local mall today to get some WIL shave cream & balm...

Bad news - they have gotten rid of C&E

Good news - they are replacing it with an AOS, opening sometime mid August...

I just picked up the new WIL sampler... shave cream, cologne, balm, and body wash. It's definitely more of a cologne-type lime than just lime. No doubt about that. Kind of a sharp grassy lime. The vetiver, I presume. I like it.

Tonight's Shave included West Indian Lime Cream nice stuff $IMG-20120730-00022.jpg

I`m looking forward to picking some up in the future at C&E. I`ve got too much of other stuff so I`ll try to delay on trying this lime scent anytime soon though.

If you were in Australia I would loan / swap for a couple of weeks of my Truefitt Hill West Indian Limes.
Lathers nicely, smells great on your face because its under your nostrils, but after the shave, I was wanting a bit more staying power.

May need to find a similar scent which compliments this cream.

Thanks for your kind offer anyways drfong. Presently I am in Hong Kong. I rarely ever buy things mail order and when I`m back home I resupply and bring all my shaving supply stuff with me to Hong Kong. I am really happy that there are lots of C&E shops over here in Asia. Thankfully I am not very picky or fussy with almost any shaving stuff and I can use just about any soaps, shaving soaps and creams as well. Sometimes I wonder about all this crying that 'woe is me that I can`t get a certain soap or cream working' is it user problem or it`s just crying to show the appearance of how sophisticated the user are?
