I've always used a lotion but would like to have a nice splash on hand. What do you recommend to some who wants something fresh and sexy? I loved my grandpa but don't want to smell like he did. No offense to anyone.

You should start with Pinaud Clubman. Do not let the out-of-the-bottle scent sway you away...put some on, give it some time to aerate, and it will smooth in something "fresh and sexy".
Fresh and sexy? Well, it ain't exactly a splash, but I suppose you could rub it on your face...

Lol. Thanks guys! I will check out the recommendations. The website...not so much. 
I depends what type of scent you like. Do you want a short or long staying power? I would go with Proraso Splash which is good on a grandpa or a youth IMO!
Nivea Energy. Readily available and cheap enough.
Speick splash is awesome and would someone a little younger, plus its very effective too.

Found some Nivea Energy Splash. Good crisp scent.
Floid Black but just use a little, it can hit hard and stay forever.
If you want to really go all out, how about some Eau Sauvage AS?
Fresh & Sexy? Aqua Velva Ice Sport is worth a try....
Gilette Cool Wave is a good modern aftershave too. Feels really nice on the face. The scent doesn't last very long, but since it's mostly oakmoss, which is a base in most men's cologne, it pairs well with most any cologne as well.

+1. I'm 32 (relatively young) and I think the scent is great. And it's performance is right up there with Speick, IMO.

I love having Clubman and Alt Innsbruck in my rotation so that I can achieve that classic barber smell, but when I want fresh and a touch younger, I definitely reach for Speick
