What's new

Never again will I purchase anything from Fragrancenet!

I'm trying to keep calm and cool here guys. If a few inappropriate words pop out I am sorry. But I am livid! And let me explain why. So for Black Friday fragrancenet had some good discounts going on. I finally decided to bite the bullet and pick up New Haarlem. Due to the discount I was getting I upgraded to 3 day shipping. That was around lunch on 11/30. In a matter of maybe an hour I had an email from fragrancenet saying my package was shipped and it included my tracking number. I know how the label printing/package shipping situation works. I knew my package hadn't been shipped that quick so I gave it till Monday 12/03 before I checked my tracking. No tracking info to be given is what I was told. Didn't think anything about it. Figured with the holidays it might just be taking some time. So I check it again Tuesday 12/04. Same thing. So I email UPS to see whats going on. They replied back letting me know that fragrancenet printed up my shipping label but no package was ever actually given to UPS for pickup and that I would need to get with fragrancenet to work this out. So out goes an email to fragrancenet. I told them what UPS had reported and to please just refund my money if the package had indeed not been sent. Wednesday 12/05 I get a reply back saying that they are sorry I have not yet received my package but I must wait a total of 11 days, until 12/11, before they can refund or reship anything. This is to make sure the package isn't just taking a while. And from this reply I obviously concluded that either the person who replied is a damn idiot or it was an auto reply in regards to a shipping question. So next I'm on the phone trying to call in. Anyone else ever tried to call fragrancenet? Dont! My first time calling I was on hold for 22 min. I finally get through and immediately ask to speak with a supervisor. I'm then told that the one and only supervisor, yes you heard that right the one single supervisor for all of fragrancenet, has just stepped away from her desk. I'm told that I cannot hold and that if I want to speak with her I would have to call back. BOOM! It is f****** on! "So you're telling me that I was just on hold for over 20 min to be told that I have to call back and go through it all again?" Lots and back and forth and I finally get the supervisors email. I send an email off generalizing everything going on and asking for a call back. I wait about 4 or so hours without a call back so I called back in. On hold for 17 min this time. This time however the girl I got was very polite. But guess what? I couldn't speak a the supervisor because she had again "just stepped away from her desk". This girl was quick to apologize and offer the supervisors email. She was so nice I just couldn't be mean to her. I hung up and sent another email. Waited until this morning and still no reply back of any kind. So I make my third call in this morning. On hold for 19 min and the girl this time is even worse than the first. No bs, the rudest customer service rep I've ever spoke to. And guess what guys? Do you think the supervisor was at her desk? Do you? If you said yes, you are dead wrong! This supervisor had once again "just stepped away from her desk". Lots and back and forth and I finally break down and tell this girl whats going on. As I predicted, she couldn't do a damn thing. "Its our policy to wait 11 days to give the package enough time to arrive". THERE IS NO PACKAGE! YOU PRINTED A LABEL AND DIDN'T SEND ANYTHING! THERE ISN'T SOME PACKAGE GETTING MOVED AROUND TRUCKS AND DISTRIBUTION CENTERS AND JUST NOT GETTING SCANNED AND UPLOADED! Omg I went off on this girl. I hang up and immediately send yet another email. That was a few hours ago and still haven't gotten any kind of a reply back. This is the absolute worst customer service I have ever received. I don't care how good a deal they have, I will never ever purchase another item from fragrancenet. I can only hope none of you have had any similar experiences with them. BLAAAAAHHH! Needed to vent there guys. Sorry.

This is why I pay full price and purchase from Luckyscent, Neiman, bergdorf, Saks, Barneys, etc. they respect their customers and have a reputation to keep.

BTW I had similar issues with Perfumed Court but have had great experiences so far with Surrender to Chance for those of you looking for decants that the BnB guys don't carry.

I take it that you're in your early 20's? It shows by your lack of patience. Just to let you know, since you bought something on Black Friday, they probably had a backlog of orders that they can't ship off all in one day considering they only have one supervisor as you shared. It's a small company trying to make do.

Wait... you paid for 3 day shipping but you have to wait 11 days for it to arrive ? What?
I'm also in my 20's (x3) :biggrin1: and I think the runaround you got is total BS. You were treated very poorly and have every right to be angry.

I'm sorry for your misfortune, but now you know how I feel every morning of every working day after I wake up.

An 11 day waiting period for complaints on a 3 day shipping offer seems preposterous to me. I'd say, since you waited a few business days before contacting them and paid for expedited shipping, it's perfectly acceptable to be upset with a company that missed their arrival date. If you were timing arrival for a birthday or prior to a vacation, you are now paying for service not rendered. The company should at least be receptive to your concerns. Still, I hope you didn't get too upset with a random person over the phone. Serenity now!

It is preposterous, but I learned something a very long time ago. Companies will take your money in an instant. However, they will do everything possible to delay refunding it.

Ordered a bottle of Floris #89 from them. (How could I not, rock-bottom pricing.)

Box arrived quickly enough, tore it open, and...it was Mahon Leather. I was livid. Can't let a bottle of perfume just sit there, though, so that night I lost all inhibition and tried it. Loved it. Liked it much more than #89, actually.

Despite that going well, I hear shady things about them all the time and am probably not getting another order.

Maybe you should send another email and call customer service again?

I've used them a time or two in the past with no issues. They weren't the quickest for delivery, but I saved a crap ton of money, so I was ok with it.

I bought from them a couple of times and I must said that the package arrived to Chile fast an safe. I was so impressed the first time, that I tried again... and once a again I get a great shipping and delivering time (3 days).
I'm really sorry that you got a bad experience, maybe they weren't ready for the whole black friday (you gringos came out with some wild ideas) situation; I know that is no excuse for a lame service ( if they were willing to put some great deals that day they should be prepared to manage a large number of orders).

How does age matter in this case? I'm 30 and would be more than frustrated. He paid extra for faster shipping that has been blown out of the water. If it was a free service, sure, he'd have to bite the bullet a bit. If they can't handle volume, hire more staff.

If it were me, at this point, I would be calling my bank/ credit card company and asking (demanding) that the charges be reversed.
