Need Help Finding a Better Blade

I need some help with finding the perfect blade.
What I have shaved with so far.
1.Persona Red Pack(did not like it seemed to tug on the beard)
2.Iridium( Love this blade. Sharp and smooth. Just hate the glue)
3.Feather( Not as sharp as the Iridium and was not that smooth)

What I am thinking about getting.
1. Gillette 7o' clock Green pack
2. Gillette 7o' clock Yellow pack
3. Blue bird.

I am looking for something just like the Iridium without the hastle of the glue and maybe a little cheaper. Don't get me wrong I am saving tons of money with DE shaving. But every penny counts.

Any help would be great.

Based on what you've tried, and the requirement of no glue, I probably would try the Shark, Kai, and the Derby next.

The Yellow pak have the glue.
So does the Astra.
Not sure about green pak.

I would probably pass up the Crystal becasue they are very similar to the RPIP and you didnt care for those.

Are Derby's as sharp as the Iridiums
??? In your first post you say that feathers are not as sharp as Iridiums??? This seems to contradict the widely held opinion that feathers are the sharpest blades on the planet and well worth their higher price. Derby's are by and large a lot of folks fall back blades certainly mine at present. I'm pretty much stuck in the UK with generic "persona" type blades which the morrison/tesco ones are made in Israel.

Iridiums are VERY sharp....and it is just an opinion. I for one also think that feathers are not as sharp as iridiums now that ive tried feathers. To my beard feathers dont really make a dent.......lol sounds strange but true . As for the OP you should really try the indian green Gillette Permasharps. Very sharp with no glue....although I must admit the glue doesnt bother me.

true they (yellows) have glue..still IMHO a good blade (ymmv) BUT the glue is a non issue if you soak your razor on 91% alcohol as someone else suggested. Just a helpful hint not an indictment.

I have not used de blades much yet. However, from limited personal experience and from posts on the forum I would ignore the glue. On my third Iridium the glue ran over the edge; I wiped it with a towel and continued - still shaving great on my fourth go with it. Scrape it off with an old blade, run a towel over it, use alcohol to dissolve it, or ignore it.

+1 on ignoring it. Just put the worst spots facing up in your razor. They really don't seem to affect the shave.

I found the Iridiums to be smoother in my Gillette slim. I did how ever try it in a Gillette open comb and it was real sharp. After the shave today I say as sharp or a squeck less then the Iridiums

Thanks for that. I was wondering how to et rid of the glue if it causes a problem. And was also wondering If I can ignore it. Thanks for the tip.

You should add the astra's in there if you can deal with the glue.

Glue does not affect the shave in my opinion.
