ok... so i love sandalwood, cedar, woodsy, musk smells but not over powering. MWF is already the best on my list of best shaves but i want another quality soap with a great scent! please give me your review on quality of shave and description of scent. I have a few listed in a poll but if you have even better recommendations please let me know!

- i wish MWF made soaps with various scents!

Wutanga, I'm going to be doing a weekly video that reviews different shaving products. I'm going to post them on here so be on the look out for that. In the mean time try Tabac, or L'occitane's shave soap. Those are both, big time winners. I don't know anyone who tried Tabac and didn't fall in love immediately.

Max.

I just purchased Klar Classic. I like the scent very much. It's refreshing. I have Tabac, but wouldn't say I am in love with the scent. It is unique and the soap works fine. It has a huge following like MWF and is pretty musky. Razorock has a lot of various scents and they are very popular. Irisch Moos and Speick shave sticks are nice.

In that list my vote goes to AoS. It's made in Italy, it's made by Valobra, it's a top quality performer.

I've got over twenty soaps and nearly as many creams, and Art of Shaving is the best performer of any I've tried. It makes a slick, dense lather with very little effort. If you buy the refill pucks on sale, the price is reasonable as a puck lasts quite a while. The only thing I've tried that lasts longer is Martin de Candre, but if forced to choose just one soap, I'd pick AoS over MdC.

Why isn't ARKO on this list?

I can't speak to Tabac (it's on my short list to buy and try), but L'Occitane's lather comes close to AOS IMHO.

Another vote for AOS Sandalwood. I tried samples of both AOS and DR Harris, and while DR Harris is a very good soap with a fine scent, the AOS is better.

Try them all. Don't rely on polling. Sandalwoods aren't all the same and it's impossible to tell you which ones you'll prefer.

Even if you don't it's a given that scent is highly subjective. No scent appeals to every single person out there. Every soap has its fans and detractors. There are certainly plenty of posts from people who don't care for Tabac and/or its scent.

The only thing I've tried that lasts longer is Martin de Candre, but if forced to choose just one soap, I'd pick AoS over MdC.
...and that's the other problem with recommendations. Preference varies. I'd choose MDC over AoS despite preferring sandalwood as a scent.

Always consider the person asking for recommendations when making a recommendation.

Both are in my top 3. Obviously, YMMV (as well as the OP's). Again, try them all and decide based on first hand experience. Better is always highly subjective, regardless of topic.
