Need Advice on DE Razor Purchase

Hello Gentleman,

I'm requesting a bit of help. There's a pretty good deal at Bullgoose right now on a razor I'm very interested in...the Titan. The H1 is on sale for $145 plus %10 off while the R1 is at $185 and also %10 off.

I like how my Merkur 38C shaves so I was wondering if anyone knew the blade gap difference between the Titans H1, R1 as they compare to a 38C. I've been told by one person that it's closer to an H1 but I'm respectfully requesting a second opinion.

I used both and i think the Titan H is bit more refined and it may give a better shave result than the 38c, i prefer the r1 plate instead.....here are some specs:

The 38c has a blade gap of .64mm

I broke down and ordered the R1. Why do you prefer the R1 over the H1, if you don't mind my asking?
