Need advice/Masculine sensibilities

Alright gents,

I could use a little advice deciding on how to replate a razor for a gift. SO has been using a vintage slim for some time and really likes it, but the ones I've picked him up are on the dingy side. He has said before that he'd really like a replate. I've procured what looks to be a great candidate from a member here, and I broke down and asked him what kind of finish he'd like. Good thing I did--he has said in the past that he really liked gold, but it was far-surpassed when he saw the ceracoat razors on WestCoastRazors:

I'd like to add an accent or something to make it look a little more...finished. If it's even possible (talking with Dave now), what do you think of doing the adjuster in rose gold? That way it would have a nice shiny accent and I could paint in the numbers. BUT I don't want to let my ladysensibilities take over the project, so I seek your manliest advice.

tl;dr: Rose gold adjuster on black ceracoat razor? Scroll down for photoshop renditions.

Oh, just for style reference, this is the watch that he wears and loves:

Myself, I don't think I'd like the rose gold on the adjuster. I think a maybe some kind of contrasting paint on the numbers instead. Maybe someone could photo-shop up a picture with it in Gold to see how it looks first.

I honestly think I'd go with the Ceracoat one and then I'd try and track him down a good condition Aristocrat from the 60's (Gold painted Slim). They show up here quite often as well as the bay.

Don't go reinventing the wheel here. Gillette had a black handled adjustable with nickle plating on the adjuster and head. They also had a black handled superspeed with nickle bottom adjuster and nickle head. Take a look at those and you'll know what they look like.

Google "gillette black" and you'll see a few hundred pictures of black and silver razors.

I think that if you do either gold or silver (my vote, but I don't like gold), that it shouldn't be the only thing in the accent color. I would say that you might want to consider adding the doors in the same color too in addition to the adjuster and then the ceramicoat on the balance. I think that would look sexy.

Alright, I broke down and just asked him. He wants to go with yellow (not rose) gold for the adjuster. I love the idea of doing more parts in gold, but most of the reading I've done says that even the best gold plating isn't going to last a lifetime, and so I don't really want to put it on a part of the razor that's getting a lot of wear. Super excited for this project!
