My wife and I were browsing antique stores this afternoon, and a little book on handwriting caught my eye. It was written by a gentleman Stephen Ziller, prior owner of Ziller of Kansas City (which is still in operation today under new ownership - http://www.zillerofkc.com/ ). This was the eighth printing in 1979. I don't know when the original would have been written. I may write them and ask. It's a short course in business hand writing, and is pretty detailed. It covers basic writing form, pens, posture, etc. It then moves into a series of exercises for basic skills development, then a study of each letter. I love finding stuff like this that I can somewhat trace the history on...very cool!
Some history about the company while Stephen Ziller owned it (partnered with the current owners in later years)

Some history about the company while it was Tamblyn Studio and School of Penmanship (Tamblyn and Ziller were business partners, and Ziller carried on the business). It's quite a history in the penmanship arts....back to 1894.

It's copyrighted, but I think fair use would allow showing a couple of pages for show and tell:
