What's new

Nearly a year later...

So after a few months of being active on these boards, I quit coming in. (To make a long story short, someone made me mad. No need to go into further details.)

If you remember my short visit, I was constantly buying razors, restoring some, replating others (I was the one who did the gold and rose gold red tips).

I have about 120 razors. Most of them sat after I used different types. RAD hit me hard and I found myself buying unique razors when I could. A pristine Psycho with the key, a pre-release Toggle, etc. I guess thats what happens when your first DE is a Stahly Live Blade. :tongue_sm

My favorites are black handled Super Speeds and Aristocrat Techs.

Simple ones really.

My collection is going on eBay, one razor at a time. I guess collecting them just isn't for me. I'll keep the few I like to use, and the rest are out of here. Maybe I'll use some of that money to get a really nice brush.

I'm still wet shaving, and can't imagine any other way. But for me, the novelty of the different razors wore off, I know what I like and want to simplify my bathroom. I may even trade off some of my soaps and creams and colognes for a back-stock of T&H 1805. That has become my signature scent.

Nice to be back.

Maybe I'll put some energy into making or restoring brushes.

It's funny. I was wondering what happened to you about a week ago. Good to see you back with us. Good luck with the sales. :thumbup1:

Since you are selling off your razors - you should put them on B&B first :biggrin1:*

*I should really stop buying razors

Been there!!!!

I thought about it, and we'll see with others. I'm actually doing a massive sell off. I've been in the same house for 12 years and live 50 miles away from work and my gf. Real estate is so cheap right now and my current house makes a good rental.

I'm liquidating for a down payment on another place. (Although I think my gf might be buying a house. Which means all I have to do is marry her and use the money to buy myself a nice Lexus sc430. )

Feel free to contact me first with anything you might be selling :biggrin1::tongue_sm:lol:

Welcome back, man! I wondered what happened to you. Hope you can stay a little longer this time, as it sounds like you've still got a lot on your plate. Good luck with "downsizing" your razor collection.

Owner One of the Red Tip CSD!!!

I'll let ya know if it becomes an international club again. We should know on Wednesday. :wink2:

19 up... 60 to go?

Owner One of the Red Tip CSD!!!...

Yes, Owner One and now "Former" Owner. My time searching for the "best razor for me" has ended, and I've settled on a rotation of the Merkur HD, Edwin Jagger DE89L, and the Muhle R89. And since I'm not a "collector", I've passed the Red Tip CSD #1 on to a place where it can be appreciated and appropriately placed on display. It's in very good hands now - Mr. Scruffy is the proud owner, and as he is somewhat a collector, I believe he intends to keep it a long, long time.

Indeed I do!! Glad to see the artist has returned. I might have an Aristocrat or two that would look real good...

Thats awesome. I hope the eBay buyers appreciate the time and effort that went into those red-tips. If they do, I may do a few more.
