my ugly brush

Several times I have mentioned my ugly boar brush. Someone took notice and I figure the thought was I don't like this brush.

Here it is, a Marvy from Sally Beauty Supply:



It looks better on camera than real life. When I took it out of the package brand new it looked like a used brush with 30 years of shedding behind it.

Maybe you can see the heavy black hair, looks like it would scratch:



It is my travel brush. And sad as it is to look at, it does work great for face lathering. Also hasn't shed a hair yet.

Not tried a marvey brush myself but if it does the job then it can't be all bad.

I have a pure badger that I thought I was going to put into travel service, but then I figured if I get in a jam and have to pack the Marvy brush for the trip home while it is still damp I won't worry about it too much. I just carry it loose in a zip pocket in my kit. This thing will probably last longer than me.

It looks pretty nice. The problem I found with having a boar brush as a travel companion is that it takes way longer to dry than a badger brush.

The brush, actually, looks very decent!! If you want a great travel brush, you should try one of the synthetics as they dry incredibly quick!

The handle is OK for me
Nice colours and shape,a re-knot and it will be excellent.
