I am on the DE --> Feather AC ---> SR path. I found the switch from the Feather to the SR, initially, to be very comfortable and I was very happy with my initial progress. However, after a week of shaves I noticed that I kept nicking the same areas around my chin, below my right jawline, and right upper lip.
Frustrated, a couple of days ago I put down the SR and returned to my favorite DE. This allowed the cat scratches to heal, etc.
This morning I returned to the Feather for the first time in quite a while and treated myself to the best shave I've ever had with it or the SR. It's like the DE (Merkur slant) hit the reset button for me. The shave this morning was not as good as the DE (yet), but it was very comfortable and close.
Good to be back on the path.
