My Next Blade? What order should I try?

So I just finished my 7th DE shave this morning and I am liking the Astra SP blade, and DE shaving has definitely been worth the time investment so far. I'd say the Astra SP is a great beginner blade since I hardly cut myself, and I'm starting to get great shaves.

I wanted to get some feedback on what should be the next blade I try, or some people favorites so I can start to consider which blades I will have in my line up.

Sampler
I purchased a blade sampler from WestCostShaving, and I also bought 2 extra blades that I read were people's favorites.

So here are my options:
-Astra Superior Platinum (Already used and its been a great blade)

-Feather New Hi-Stainless Platinum
-Crystal or "Israeli"
-Derby Extra
-Red Israeli Personna

-Shark Super Chrome
-Polsilver Super Iridium

What's a good next blade for a newbie to mix in? I know the Feather's are supposed to super sharp so i'll probably wait off on that one, but I don't know a ton about the rest. If anyone has tried a bunch feel free to list in order of how you recommend I try them out.

If you like Astra SP, you should stick with that and get your technique perfected. For the most part, your experience with different blades today will count for squat in six months.

I say sharks, and make sure you leave at least a blade from each pack so you can come back to it later, your opinion of a blade will change massively once you have got your technique down.

I say Feather!! I have a sampler pack and the Feather is Sharper IMO than the Astra. But not by much. The astra is my Go to blade so far.

I'd say try the Derby. They are forgiving and a good blade to work with. Some love them, I just bought 100 of them, and others hate them. Only you can decide which side of the fence you are on :)

I go for 2/3 blades of astra until i got the"feel"of the blade and went to persona- shark super chrome-crystal-polsilver and lastly feather due to the"respect"that each blades demand for and repeat the same process and save the last 2 blade of each brand after i finish rotating the blades.. I definitely can feel the character of each blade. Enjoy your shave!:thumbup1: and i don't bother to try out Derby again, not for a while.

I started pretty much the same way as you. I tried some blades, didn't like most of them and stuck with the Astra SP. After several months I decided to try one of the blades I had dismissed but everyone was raving about and got a great shave. Like British Dave said, get your technique perfected before passing judgement on a blade.

Thanks for the tips everyone. So i'll probably keep rocking on with the Astra SP's then, which will be at least 6 more shaves and leave 1 left over. Then based on votes i'll probably try the Persona Red's or the Derby and see how that goes, and venture on in my sample pack from there. I've heard a lot about the Gillette's you guys mentioned, eventually i'll grab some of those.

Thanks for the input everyone!
