Some quick pics of my two, new R. Aust straights. Got a 6/8 Round and a 7/8 Square. The 6/8 round has some beautiful and intricate etching on the spine....very nice touch.

the 7/8 shaved very nicely....used it for shaves 9, 10 and 11 -- got DFS with it on #11 
Couldn't believe how nice of a shave it was. I have a long way to go to get to BBS but for now, I am happy that these two are helping me on my way.

I really feel like getting one of those, especially the one with the decorated spine. How do they compare to a dovo? Do they come shave ready?
I love my Ralf Aust 7/8 ... So much so that I'm hoping for another in Rosewood ..
My blade was shave ready with the Aust provided edge. If you buy from a vendor that provides honing, I cannot say. The edge, as provided by Herr Aust, is very nice!
