i'll get a Henry eventually but I've wanted a Winchester for so long that it was now or never. the 9422 seems to keep going up in price (much like vintage safety razors) and since I found this one for a decent price I nabbed it.I love vintage .22 rifles, you wouldn't have done bad with the Henry if you had chosen that route. I love mine!
by the way, do any of you have experience cleaning a .22 lever gun? I have no experience with this so the idea of taking the 9422 apart freaks me out. should I just clean it from the muzzle?
oh, I also picked up a 100 pk of CCI .22LR ammo today just to try out. the salesman said I should stick with copper plated .22 ammo because the lead ammo will foul up the barrel. Is this true?
Salesman doesn't know what he's talking about. A bore that will be fouled with lead .22 bullets will be fouled by copper-plated .22 bullets. Just clean the bore normally and be happy.
