I got a huge lot from one of our fellow B&B'rs recently and it has been life changing! First off let me go down the list of AS's I have now:
Balms:
Nivea Sensitive
Nivea Cooling
CO Bigelow Elixir Green
Corn Huskers (counts right?)
SCS Aspect
Pre de Providence Shea Butter
Splashes:
Family Dollar Old Spice
Clubman
Barbasol Pacific Rush
SCS Mediterranean Citrus
Floid (not sure which variety, its decanted)
Speick
Musgo Real (classic)
My first experience with an aftershave was the Pacific Rush. Before that I had been limited to the Nivea balms because I was afraid of alcohol! Man was I surprised by the cooling freeze of the 'Rush in the morning. From then on, I knew I'd be a splash guy. I still had to use a balm since the Rush isn't moisturizing at all. My next buys were the Clubman and the Old Spice. I'm not a huge fan of Clubman or the Old Spice, just not my scent I guess.
So that brings us to last week when I finally bucked up and got a bunch of non-drugstore brand aftershaves and balms. I had been eying Speick for a while since everything I had read made me think I'd love it. Sure enough, I do. It is the most amazing stuff. It has changed my shaving! I only wish the scent would stick around longer! The new balms (SCS and PdP) were a great change too, even though the Speick was moisturizing enough. I love both scents, they are very woody/grassy and go with Speick pretty well.
I was worried about the Musgo, as I am by far NOT a fan of the cream's scent but the AS is great! A fantastic scent and moisturizing too.
Unfortunately, the SCS Mediterranean AS is not my thing I don't think. Its so darn sweet and funky smelling. That might be on the chopping block soon. Anybody like this stuff?
Finally the Floid is nicely cooling but unfortunately the scent is just not my thing. It lasts too long and is way too vintage for me. Think this one will go too.
So yeah, that's where I'm at now. Long story short: I need more Speick!
