Great video! Thomas, could you or anyone in the US tell me where you can get a metal bowl that is hollow. Also Thomas, what did you use to cut a hole in the bowl with......I'm not all that great with power tools either.

Thomas, great idea using metal instead of clay. I also use a metal bowl as my outer bowl and it keeps my inner ceramic bowl plenty toasty. I like your one piece tho.

That lathering bowl is HUGE!!!

I had the DB 1.5x and found it to be a little small. I guess that I am a VIGOROUS lather maker. This size is great especially for my larger brushes.

Thanks for sharing your video on the home made scuttle. All I am using currently is a Large Ceramic Soup Mug which sits nicely in a stainless steel bowl. I put enough hot water in the bowl to cover the mug and let the brush soak in the mug. For lathering, I take the hot mug out of the bowl of hot water and whip up the lather. The Ceramic Soup mug is wide, has a handle and really holds the heat. When the lather is made in the mug I place it back in the hot stainless bowl to stay nice and warm. The lather is hot all through my shaving passes. Works nice at home. However, I doubt I would bring if I was travelling. Cheers.
