My First Restored Brush - Albright 1550

So I just received my first restored brush, a vintage Albright 1550 from fellow B&B'er Mike. User name lax1mxr. Kind of a cool story behind this one. I was playing around, and posted this picture off of ebay of a pretty sorry looking vintage brush, if you read the thread, Mike ended up buying it and restoring it. After seeing it, and having been the one that started this whole thing, I thought "what would be more appropriate than if I bought it?" So I did.

Knot is a 22mm Super badger fan shaped knot with the loft set at 46mm from The Golden Nib. What a fantastic knot, soft with good backbone. Kudos to Mike for knowing just how to set this thing. If you ever see one of his restores available on the BST, snatch it up, as he does a great job.

Here are some photos, as received, lathering MWF, and thickness of lather created:thumbup::thumbup:

Here is a shot post bloom, and another in the stable with the rest of the herd:

If anyone has questions about these knots, they are really good, on par with any production brush I have used, including the BBE.

Thanks again to Mike for a great brush and a great story!

Ok, so I actually used the brush last night, and I have to say it was better than what the test lather foreshadowed. Mike is an artist, and set the loft at the perfect height. Super soft tips, but with all the backbone you could possibly want. I give it  (2 thumbs up)!
