My first lathering with my new Vulfix #850

I lathered for the first time with my new Vulfix #850 brush for the first time and to be honest was rather dissappointed with it. It was loosly packed that the brush (lacking density) was floppy. As a result I had difficulty working the lather into my beard and developing a good lather on my face using circular motions. All after using good cream to water proportions (I lathered using a cream in a bowl, then tried working it into my beard).

Is this brush designed to be used in a specific way (ie only with creams lathered in a bowl and applied paint brush style to the face) or...? I own a #404 Badger/Boar mix and find it to be the direct opposite and I love it.

What may I be doing wrong? Are Vulfix pure badger brushes usually soft and floppy?

I have a vulfix 1000/1001 its not as dense as some others I have but works like a champ and doesnt hog lather like some others I have. It a little floppy nothing to major but again that is what I like ymmv. I use mine for soaps(thats all I use) and it works fine. Mwf is the best lol.

Vulfixs are renowned for floppiness. I have a 849 which is probably very similar, good starter brush and handy with creams, but too soft for soaps, I had to band it to add a bit of backbone to it.

I find my Vulfix to be a great brush for creams. I find using it "paint brush" style works best. I recently purchased a Wee Scot for travel and it has become the brush I use for soaps as I much prefer it to the Vulfix for them. I ordered the custom Eagle brush and expect that to become my primary soap brush when it arrives.
