Green is my favorite color, so when I found this brush locally I had to have it. I posted pics of it with some other brushes I found.
I soon received a PM from lax1mxr (Mike) saying he really liked the green base and if I ever wanted to have it restored, he'd be more than happy to do so. He also said that it wasn't really that difficult to do and suggested that I try it myself! How is THAT for a salesman!
Well, when I decided to have it restored, I figured Mike was going to be the guy since he expressed his liking for that particular brush. It was sent his way! I can tell you his pricing is exceedingly reasonable. I'm positive he's not getting rich off this, far from it. I think the man just loves to play with brushes. He was a consummate gentleman throughout the entire process and I cannot recommend him enough.
Thanks, Mike! Kudos to you, sir!
It received a 20mm Grade A Silvertip set at a 47mm loft. I cleaned it up to get rid of that.. yeah.. you know.. certain animal odor. When she was ready to go I used GFT Limes soap to lather it up. I was amazed at how soft the brush is and I was able to work up a nice lather in no time. I had plenty of 'control' in getting the brush to do what I wanted and it performed marvelously. I think it worked great for a first outing and it didn't lose a single hair.
The following are the before and after results. I'll let you be the judge!
The 'Pre-op'
The 'Return'
The 'Lathering'
The 'Bloom'
