What's new

My CV Heljestrand 140 is back home

So I was able to score a CVH 140 a while back off ebay. I've never scene another one so given its apparent rarity (or at least that was my excuse), I thought I'd send it to Mark (MyCarver) for the royal treatment. (**As a side note, if you've been living under a rock for the last 2 years Mark is about as nice of a member as we have, oh and by the way, he's also a magician with razors).

In an event, it came in yesterday and I couldn't be happier (Spanish point & girafe bone scales). Mark posted these in the Hobbiest Gallery, but I figured I'd share with the broader audience for 2 reasons. First, because its cool, but also I wanted to know if anyone else owns a CVH 140?

Very Nice David. I have a 13 similar no one else seems to have and its stamped Buenos Aires. The The MK133/134 are similar as well but I have not seen a 140 til yours. I am sure it shaves just as well so Congrats on a fine score!

Very nice David. How big is it?

I haven't measure it since it was sprinkled with mark's fairy dust, but if memory serves she's ~13/16.

Here's a before picture for reference.

Lol, Scott the only reason I thought it was uncommon was because you didnt have one "yet".:001_smile

Giraffe bone, you say?
I'm with the National Association of Giraffidae and Ruminants or NAGRs for short. Based on the authority bestowed to me by me, I must confiscate said blade.
Please send to your local NAGRs chapter c/o me post haste.

Sorry, I should have ellaborated. It's a giraffe bone composite. Really acrylic made to look like bone, I swear. I'll have to keep it then.

Kidding aside, I showed my wife the picture of this before it came in and she said "Glad a giraffe died do you could have another razor"......women, huh.

That's hilarious!
IMO that giraffe would have died quite an honorable death ;-)

In any case, composite or real (actually glad it's composite), that is one beautiful razor.
