My cancelled Arko order.

My too good to be true ARKO order from the other day was cancelled due to a pricing error so another member here saw my post of disappointment in me not getting the ARKO and was nice enough to send me 5 sticks which I received today. A big thank you to ksblazer for sending the sticks my way. This community is great!

Well you will get plenty of opinions on that. I think what you are smelling is what you will smell while you shave. It didn't bother me (though I can see while it might bother some). The scent dissipates fairly quickly from your body, I think. Arko performance is surprisingly good, IMO, especially for the money.

It gets better.
I don't know if it's the batch, or how it was packaged... I've opened three sticks and a tub and to me and SWMBO, it simply smells like Ivory soap. Same comment from people that I have given sticks to.

But if you find the scent overpowering, it will dissipate after a few days of being unwrapped.
Some do recommend leaving it unwrapped in the garage for a week before use.

But like The Veg, Arko can be polarizing and some people do not like the scent.

Don't worry about the smell, here's what I do: I keep one in the bathroom to shave with and I keep another one next to my bed opened up just a bit, it keeps mosquitoes away from me. When the smell fades I open it up a little more and by the time the one in the bathroom is gone I take the one from the bedroom to the bathroom and put a new one in the bedroom.
Works for me, I like the smell of Arko....

I just order Arko from Amazon and shoot I still no where near using up the 15 stick special I got and I have given 4 sticks away.

The lather was incredible and the smell not bad at all once on my face it smelled just like regular soap. A small amount of this stuff made enough lather for a generous 3 pass. My only gripe is the slickness factor just not there for me. Tonight I will use a pre shave oil to add some slide. Overall very impressed.

Try loading more or wetting the stick and rubbing it on your face more aggressively. Don't skimp. Should be plenty slick.

"A little" isn't really the best way to go. Like bowl lathering from any puck, the brush needs to be well-loaded. Creams usually respond well to "almond-sized dollop"
You should look like you drew all over your face with a piece of chalk... that'll load up the lather well in the brush and you probably won't have to reapply for the next passes, though admitted, I'm a headshaver so I've got a HUGE area to build lather into the brush.
