My aftershave journey thus far

$aftershaves02.jpg

When I started wetshaving a little over a month ago, I never thought I would get so caught up in aftershaves! I thought I'd share with the community what I've tried so far and what I've liked/disliked. I started my journey with aftershaves that were affordable and easily available at local businesses, and was ecstatic to find samples from Garry on B&B to expand my list of options. Here's the breakdown:

Like
  • Clubman Classic Vanilla
  • Clubman Lime Sec
  • Lucky Tiger
  • Musgo Real
  • Proraso
  • Old Spice/Vie-Jon Spice
  • Royall Lyme
  • Speick

Dislike
  • Aqua Velva: I like the menthol, but not the scent itself.
  • Captain's Choice Bay Rum: I just don't think I'm a bay rum guy, the scent was too strong.
  • Clubman Pinaud: I really wanted to like this one, but it was too floral and sweet to me.
  • Family Dollar Brut clone: This was an affordable way to try Brut, which I'm just not a fan of.
  • Tabac

To Try

  • Barbasol Pacific Rush (Can't find this one locally)
  • Booster (Although I haven't determined which scent yet)
  • Clubman Citrus Musk
  • Clubman Lilac Vegetal (Have to try it at least once, right?)
  • Florida Water
  • Osage Rub
  • Royall Mandarin

As far as I can tell, I'm not a huge fan of the vintage barbershop scents, I like a good menthol kick, and overall enjoy lighter and citrus-like scents. I am also an occasional user of cologne as well, and whether I use an AS, cologne, or combination, just really depends on my mood. That's probably why affordable aftershaves are such a draw as it really opens up my options.

Now that you know my story, what aftershaves am I missing from my "To Try" list?
