My 2nd toggle pick up.

I just won my 2nd toggle on ebay for $170 but it was suppose to be an E code but seller just told me it was an F code and if i want to change mind im free to do so. So what do you guys think keep it or no, if i keep it im gonna get platted should i keep it gold or go rhodium.

Also the last one I won for 22 but the seller didnt get back to me in time for question so i have option of changing mind as well. do you guys know if that star handle will fit a long comb new and how well it feels in hand.

I don't know about the toggles, but I have a different Star handle that fits my old Gillettes. It's heavier than the Gillette handles and feels good to me. The thread size should be the same I would think.

Toggles only come in a few years. F is the most common.
The only other year I've seen is D which isn't super rare, but a little less common than F.
Then you get to the serial number Toggles and prototypes.

The regular production ones are limited to F and D date codes.

Rh will be more robust than Au if you're going to shave with it. If it's just for display (and it were mine), I'd keep it Au.

Welcome to the Toggle team, I have 3 and love them all. I think that the STAR will fit the LC/NEW . ( I saw that Ebay auction, I am glad you won it. )

No one needs to have more than one Toggle. Please send all extras to me, and I'll see that they're distributed in a more equitable fashion.

congrats Shamful , the toggle looks great & I think I would also plate it gold .

I just have a couple questions for my own education - the pictures are fantastic btw - better than Ebay shots IMO -- the bottom picture looks like a travel grooming kit with the star handle & the 2 head pieces of a razor shown outside the travel box - is that a complete travel razor or is there a piece(s) missing ? is it a Gillette ? when was the "long comb new" made and do you have a link to a picture of it ? also, in your start off post you mention a $22 razor and the context to me implies it was another toggle but then you go on to ask about the star handle & "long comb new" & show the picture of a travel kit - for me it was a little confusing but it's probably because I'm not that knowledgeable.

Needs milk and a bidet!
do i have this correct.....the toggle just refers to how the head opens? also i'd keep it gold.

I plated one of mine in Rhodium because I indended to use it as a daily shaver (and I do when I use a DE).
I'm not a fan of gold razors.

Yes, the toggle at the bottom opens the silo doors.
