MWF-What's a good aftershave to follow?

Well, I'm not much of a balm guy either but I have some Nivea aftershave balm that is quite good when needed. I'd recommend that you check it out especially since it's pretty easy to find.

I really like Lab Series Razor Burn Relief Ultra. It's unscented and is filled with great things your skin needs!

Anything you'd like.
The scent of MWF is so mild and unenduring... Not unlike asking "What AS should follow my shower with Ivory"

If you like the scent of MWF, and there are a lot of people who do, then something light and vanilla-y would work well, or possibly a light bay rum. For me, since my face always feels amazing after a shave with MWF, I can't even imagine using anything that would burn or sting.

On a related note, I just looked at WCS and they sell a MWF hand and body lotion that one hero, Aaron from Utah, says he uses as an ASB and it works like a champ. Now I'm wondering how well it work......

MWF is IMHO one of the few soaps that you can use even without an aftershave. It is so moisturizing that it seems it needs nothing else. Anyway, to answer Timothy's question, Nivea (available in your local supermarket) makes some very good balms.

I find this as well. My skin always feels nice and smooth after using MWF. However, I love Proraso splash - love that menthol - so I tend to always use that afterwards but I could quite happily leave well alone after this soap.

I like this one. Today's shave will be MWF and Pinaud Vanilla.

I also use Mitchell's Wool Fat and just love Tabac Aftershave Balm with it. It dries off in a few minutes and leaves the skin feeling relaxed and fine and I have had absolutely no negative experiences with it.

On a side note, and it may well have just been my own skin but I found a popular balm, Proraso Liquid aftershave Balm, left a large area of my beard irritated - I mean a bright red film around the entire neck and throat area. I didn't check afterwards and when I looked in the mirror at work, I nearly fainted. I patch tested it on my back later, same result :scared:

I'm not sure if it's available with you but simple E45 cream is also great with the fat. I find that it leaves a sheen on the skin and I don't really like that so what I do is to apply it, wait five minutes or so then gentle pat my face down with my palms to remove that look. E45 also leaves the skin relaxed and looking fine and it's really moisturising too if that's helpful.

My preferred is Alt-Innsbruck :001_wub:

I had forgotten about that one! Couldn't agree more with David, it's a great product.

Another idea would be to try an aftershave gel. A couple I have used, from Taylor of Old Bond Street, were both mild on the skin and nicely scented. They were Sandalwood & Shaving Shop.
