Music on while you shave?

I happened to have a radio in the bathroom this morning and put on some classical music for my Sunday shave.

Voila!

Music made a great shave into a fantastic one. :biggrin1:
Anyone else have this happen?

If so...what do you listen to?

I used to, but since it involved sitting my laptop on the floor outside the bathroom, my wife's near-destruction of it one morning means...no more music.

But, my favorite fare by far was AC/DC. Definitely made shaving epic.

The only music i listen to while shaving is the sound of my razor singing as it shaves my stubble lol

+1

I'm still too dependent on the sound of my razor to put music on, but classical would be a wonderful addition if I could wean myself off from the audio feedback.

I have a Grundig by the sink, so I either listen to the so-called news or to music as I shave. Lately I have not been able to stomach the bile they are calling news, so I mostly listen to the local classical music station. I need to go to the effort to hook up a stereo near the bathroom. But, yes, music is nice.

The funny thing about these threads, is they whenever they pop up, my answer is different.

I'm listening to some of the Ultra-Lounge series, so I've been shaving to Dean Martin, Louis Prima and Peggy Lee.

Sometimes I'll pick classical, sometimes Sinatra, sometimes doo-wop, sometimes classic rock. Very much depends on the mood.

And yes, often it's the sound of the razor vs. the stubble that is my only shave music.

i think it can add to the shave but i too find it helpful to hear my shave. but a little music in the next room definitely adds to making my morning and hence my days better.

I'm a Talk Radio junkie, so that's what I usually listen to, whether I'm shaving or not.

The only exception is if I'm getting styled up for a night on the town ... then, I'll put on a station with Top-40 dance music to get in the mood. Hopefully, its a station that's broadcasting live from the bar I'm headed to, so I can get a feel for what the crowd is like that night.

When I read this I thought you were listening to modern, electronic lounge mixes such as "4AM" or "Buddha Bar" :w00t:

Honestly I do like the ambience of shaving. I'm so focused on getting the hairs on my face off while keeping my skin intact. It requires concentration but I'm not bored at all. I guess I enjoy the process of shaving

The benefits of living in a smallish flat (it's a maisonette actually), is that I can listen to music wherever I am in there - and the benefits of living alone include being able to leave the bathroom door open :001_smile

My tastes are generally focused around the late-sixties pop-psychedelia, but this morning's shave soundtrack was Badfinger's 'Straight Up'.

I usually go for classic rock such as CCR, Queen, Kiss, Led Zepplin, Def Leppard, etc. I leave it on '70s radio station...

I would like to have a playlist one day that I could try as I would probably try classic and maybe a bit of modern music.

I keep my iPod stereo-dock in my bathroom and I will occasionally listen to something while I get ready in the morning. Typically it is just whatever I happen to have on my iPod, but if I were to put together a specific shaving playlist it would probably consist of classical music or some nice soft jazz. Few things are as soothing to me as good jazz music.
I'm liking this jazz in the morning idea. I think I might have to get started on this playlist...

Ever give Pandora a try....you can create stations based on music type, artist, or song.

Music playing in the bedroom or lounge with doors open so I can hear it from the bathroom as I shave. Generally classical music, smooth jazz, classic rock.

Really like the iTunes Genius mixes, brings together some interesting combinations.

I suffer from tinitus, so sometimes I can't hear the razor making it's music. I think on those days I should fire up the wireless or better still put a CD in the tray...While sittting here typing this, I'm listening to Enya.

Unfortunately no as they restricted the licenses to the US only. I can't get it in Oz...

I used to listen to Yahoo Radio quite a bit but their Internet Explorer only option wasn't my favorite. Also, they don't seem to work well down under either...

However, there must be something somewhere...
