Basically I am after a decent sized music forum where people discuss music, recommend new/old albums to listen to, similar artists etc.

Searched on google and some seem to not let you view until you register, I dont want to waste time registering if it is crap!

Just wondered if many people here are signed upto one or know of any they can personally recommend?

Gonna need more info--what kind(s) of music are you interested in? Be as specific as possible and I might be able to point you to a good message board.

I would also be interested in something similar. I frequest gearslutz, ultimate-guitar and a couple other sites, but they are more geared towards their own niche markets, as opposed to something that specifically review albums etc.

Lately I have been listening to :arlo guthrie, mf doom, lily allen, percy sledge, neil diamond, protest the hero, MGMT, Andrea Bocelli.

Basically a guitar board I am on, very few people venture onto the music board which has become very stale with topics hanging round for months with no replies.

Been resorting to reading reviews on amazon.com but would like a bit more input/interraction/advice etc.

Allaboutjazz.com has a good forum. For some reason, though, it seems annoyingly slow.

Part of the "problem" is that your tastes are too varied (NOT a bad thing) and finding one spot to talk all those genres is going to be a tall order. I have a few places in mind but they tend to run a bit low in the signal to noise ratio, if you know what I mean.

It's a "headphone" based website (headphones, ear buds, amps, etc), but I love their music forum. They lean mostly to alternative, electronica, metal, jazz and classical. But you'll find threads on just about every type of music you can think of.
