Muhle Classit Silvertip Fibre 19vs21vs23vs25

Hi guys! I just got a Classic Muhle 19x48 mm and after my first shave i found it with a little too much backbone (i bet its going to get softer after a few uses) but i had to do a lot of work to get lather compared to, for example, another synth, an Omega 24x56.

I know the bigger knot the easier lather i'll get but i do not like long lofts (my fave model is the Simpsons Chubby 1, but i'm kinda staying away from naturals, they eat too much soap and poor badgers...).

How do you think a 21mm will compare to my 19? And what about 23 and 25 compared between them? What i do not like from the bigger models is the large loft...

I'm already double checking your info with Christian and pointed him to this thread! Did he specified any advantage over the 2011 STF?

IMHO
The 25 mm STF is HUGE !
The 23 mm STF is just right !
The 21 mm STF is also just right!
The 19 mm STF is too small!

I'd get the 23 mm STF classic - just spoke with Christian Müller, the owner of Mühle and the STF version 2.0 is out now - a quiet launch, which nobody knew off. But they made minor improvements to the already great STF brush.
Buy a 23 mm STF at Mühle, but shoot them an email asking for STF version 2.0 hairs and not the old stock to be sure to get the newest version.

That stf 2.0 news is fantastic!

ITo be honest I think if Mühle continues to improve upon the STF hairs, it will be very hard to stay true to natural badger hair brushes, even in 2-band and 3-Band Silvertip quality.......

I have to completely agree with you on this Claus. It will be interesting to hear some user reviews of the 2.0 version. Though the changes may be minor from what you are saying, they are still welcome changes. I hope in the interest of splaying they don't compromise the backbone too much. I never had a problem with lather release on my STF brushes.

Are the product numbers the same, then? How would one know if it's the newer model unless the model numbers change? I have the 21mm and would like to pick up the 23mm but I would definitely prefer the newer version.
