Most menthol: TSD SubZero or Mamma Bear's Bear Ice?

Hey guys. I was wondering which of these two soaps, TSD SubZero and Mamma Bear's Bear Ice, has more menthol kick? Looking for a soap to go along with my Proraso pre-shave, and Osage Rub :)

Thanks!

Used to have fun with Commander Yellow Pantyhose
Haver tried tha mama bears, but the TSD subzero in 2x menthol is a serious face freezer!

Never used either of those but I thought I was going to have frostbite after I shaved with a sample of QCS Vostok. That stuff was so cold I couldn't even describe it in a way that would do it justice. Makes Proraso green seem like a nice summer day by comparison.

If we're voting (did this become a vote thread ... not sure), I've got to say QCS Vostok is so cold it made my eyes water and my nose run

I got used to my Vostok after about 20 shaves. Great stuff - really refreshing especially in the current UK heatwave :)

So, has anyone compared the Vostok to the TSD or Mamma Bear? It sounds like they're all sufficiently mentholated, so I guess my question really is which one gives the better shave?

Thanks for the replies :)

I've never used TSD so I can't comment there. I do have a few different products from both Queen Charlotte Soaps and Mama Bear's soaps and I would give the edge to QCS. Their stuff is just a bit slicker and more moisturizing to me.

I haven't used Mama Bears or TSD but the forum consensus is that Queen Charlotte Vostok & Iced Key Lime are the coldest soaps out there.

Vostock followed up with Osage Rub AS. Your eyes water your sinuses run, best damn feeling in the world.

Ooops sorry OP, not your question. Thread hijack.

I haven't compared the three, but Vostok is easy to lather, slicker than greased cat poo, and is a great shave. Cold water splash afterwards is usually quite brutal, and after working 12 hours today in a 98 degree warehouse, it was especially brutal. Followed up with The Rub. Chillin...

Ordering some Vostok. Thanks!
You're in for a treat. Fantastic stuff! :thumbup1: It's quite a waxy, firm cream as opposed to say TOBS, so a little goes a long way.
I have to only flick the brush fibres through any TOBS cream to have enough to face lather for 2 or 3 passes. I have to work a little harder with the Vostok, and it seems to like plenty of water dabbed on after starting on a damp brush, but the lather is lovely & rich.

Has anyone tried the BrainFreeze from Razorock? I've recently discovered Razorock and fell in love with XX. Now I'm looking for other scents.

Not cold at all. It's an 'automatic' lather, a refined (somewhat faint) eucalyptus scent, but it's not cold. I like shaving with it, but it's not what the name suggests.
