More Than I Bargained For

I was searching eBay a while back for a blade dispenser to complete a 1961 Fat Boy set. I wasn't particularly concerned with obtaining the exact original dispenser, I just wanted one that was proper for that era. So, I come across an auction for an early 60's Super Blue Blade dispenser with a fuzzy picture, but with a starting price of .99 and $1 shipping, it looked promising. Long story short, I win the dispenser for only $2, and not only is it the correct factory installed 6 blade dispenser, but they are still sealed with the instructions!

That is very nice. I wouldn't mind one of those just to load a current supply of blades into for traveling purposes.

NO!

If you want a dispenser, just go buy a set of gillette blades at a local drug store. Some of them still have dispensers like that.

Opening a completely NOS package of blades like that one to use for travel is sacrilege. The only reason that should be opened is to read the pretty instructions .

If you want a blade dispenser for travel, the Walmart Personna blades have a metal dispenser with a blade vault that's built like a tank. If you don't like the Personna blades (I think they are worth a shot, but prefer others) then simply chuck of PIF and load with your favorites.

Nothing wrong with the current Gillette dispenser, but for under two bucks the Wallyworld Personna dispenser is as good, and won't set you back six or seven bucks at a drugstore.

Very nice. But considering it's more than you expected, I'll be glad to swap you for a correct, opened blade dispenser (full of blades!) to save you the anguish of having the NOS pack in your collection. Yes, you're welcome!
